Entertainment summary: Buddy Walk raises awareness of Down syndrome


Lima-The Down Syndrome Society of Western Ohio is organizing a walk with friends to raise awareness and celebrate people with Down syndrome.

The Buddy Walk begins Saturday at 11:00 am with registration at Forot Park, Woodlawn and Cole Street in Lima. The free walk starts at 1:00 p.m.

Lunch is provided and other activities are scheduled for the event. This event will help launch in October, Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

Other events in the area include:

Garage sale: Friday and Saturday 8 am-4pm at Dr. 604 Gloria’s Westside United Methodist Church in Lima. The furniture is chargeable. All other items are provided for donations. The product will help the veterans’ pantry in Northwest Ohio.

True American Sunrise: Friday 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center at Town Square 7 in Lima. The cost including continental breakfast is $ 5 for members. $ 7 for non-members The program starts at 7:30 a.m.

The topic for breakfast attendees this morning is supply chain. Keynote speakers include Mike Powell of Sign Solutions, Ohio. Scott Cockerell of Wannemacher; Dr Jonathan Andreas, Professor of Economics, Professor Howard Raid.
