group organizes its second annual walk on mental health | News


Strong Families/Strong Community of Perry County held its second annual Mental Health Walk at Perry County Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 21. Organizations lined the walkway to raise awareness of resources available in the community.

The Lincoln Hills Development Corporation’s mission is to alleviate poverty to improve lives and communities in southern Indiana. They believe in economic and social justice for all people in southern Indiana. The mission of community action agencies is to lift people out of poverty. Resource coordinators are able to give people the tools they need to become smug. The Perry County office is at the Larry Kleeman Center in Tell City.

Building Blocks is a program located in Evansville that offers resources for parents. One of the things being offered is an upcoming series of mindful parenting workshops. The series will explore how to incorporate mindful disciplinary practices into the home. It will show how to connect with a child in a way that helps manage their behavior. In-person classes are held in Evansville, but there are also virtual classes for people who are not local.

LifeSpring Health Systems offers a mobile health clinic. It is open to all ages and all income levels. No insurance is required. They can also help you get insurance. The next mobile clinic will be in Cannelton at the Cotton Mill Apartments on June 29.

These are just a few of the resources available. Anyone who has financial difficulties, family problems or health problems, there are things available in the area to help them.
